Overview
Lightspeed Voice's Orbit desktop application is used for making calls and managing your phones.
Step-by-Step
1. Installing Orbit
Log into the Lightspeed Voice Dashboard, click the gear icon for Settings, and download the installer for Windows or macOS. Log in with the same credentials you use on the Dashboard.
2. The Switchboard
After logging in, you'll see the Switchboard, an overview of all extensions on your account. Narrow the view by username, extension, group, or queue. Enable Run At Startup and System Notifications in your profile settings so you never miss a call pop.
3. Call Pop Settings
Adjust these under Integrations → Call Pops, choosing Inbound, Outbound, All, or None for your connected integrations.
4. Softphone
The blue phone icon in the bottom left is your Softphone, tied to your extension. Choose your outbound Caller ID and configure audio devices via the gear icon. Controls include Mute, Dial, Hold, Transfer, Mute Recording, Conference, and Toggle Call Transcription. Dial *27 to park a call. Try Mini-mode for a simplified view, or enable Always on Top to keep the phone visible.
5. Flyout Menu
Expand the left menu for: Messenger (texts and emails with prospects), Voicemail (switch between mailboxes), Call History (search, filter, and export logs), Phonebook (manage and call contacts), Speed Dial (quick-dial codes via *0 + value), and Fax (send and manage faxes).
